During a presentation on repair solutions at Nouryon MCA at Chemiepark Delfzijl, exactly what every maintenance professional takes into account happened: a live leak.
In the middle of the session, one of the attendees received a WhatsApp message with a photo of a leaking weld in a 70 °C water line.Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a complex situation: a leaking weld close to a flange, with a thickened section and a DN80 pipe (88.9 mm OD). It soon became clear that the Repico RE DN80 repair coupling for elbows could be a suitable solution.
Coincidentally, a Repico sample was on the table as a demonstration model. The maintenance staff were called in, given a brief explanation, and decided to apply the coupling immediately. Result: the leak was fixed within 15 minutes. The installation proved to be simple and effective.
