AVK Stainless Steel Repair Clamps

Leaking water pipes can cause serious problems. The damaged pipes must be repaired as soon and safe as possible, but also durably to prevent waterloss. Repairs often cost a lot of time and money. The AVK stainless steel repair clamp is a fast, professional and maintenance-free solution. Choose the best solution for your problem from the wide product range of AVK repair clamps. Whether the damage is simple or complicated, with our stainless steel repair clamps, a pipe with a crack or hole can be repaired permanently. Our repair clamps are suitable for (stainless) steel, copper, asbestos cement, ductile - and cast iron, GRP and PVC pipes with pipe diameters from DN 40 up to 1000 mm up to a pressure of 16 bar. On request we can also produce repair clamps up to DN 2000 mm.

In-house production

The AVK repair clamps are produced and assembled at AVK Rewag in Vaassen. The AVK Rewag production facility is fully equipped in accordance with current requirements & standards. The entire production process is ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 certified and achieved level 4 on the CSR Performance Ladder. AVK manufactured products are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and material used for a period of 10 years.

How does the repair clamp work?

A stainless steel pre-bent plate with welded threaded ends, nuts and washers, is clamped around the pipe. The inside of the clamp has a rubber lining. The tensile force caused by the closure is converted into a radial pressure of the rubber lining on the pipe, this ensures optimal sealing.

High-quality stainless steel

The stainless steel repair clamp is produced in stainless steel quality AISI 304 and AISI 316. The quality of AVK repair clamps is beyond question as each repair clamp is completely pickled and passivated after welding for the best corrosion resistance.

Rubber sealing

An important part of the stainless steel repair clamp is our rubber sealing. The gasket has an elongated wafer structure and the spannerplate is vulcanized for an optimal circumferential sealing. The rubber used by AVK has a wafer structure with special rounded tops, in this way closed cells are formed after clamping the pipe. The rubber quality depends on the application. The standard application is EPDM and NBR, for special applications AVK can supply other rubber qualities, such as FKM (Viton).

AVK’s own rubber factory AVK GUMMI has manufactured high performance rubber components for demanding applications for more than 40 years. Particularly for the technical and chemical industries, the energy sector, the drinking water sector, the food industry and the healthcare industry. AVK GUMMI is among the world leaders in these areas. The manufacturing system includes a check of each rubber compound, full traceability, SPC control, FMEA and an extraordinarily clean production environment.

EPDM Ethylene-Propylene-diene Monomer, according to EN 681-1, WRAS & W270 approved: is highly suitable for water, hot water, oxidizing liquids and acids. Temperature range -40°C to +120°C.

NBR Nitrile-butadiene rubber (nitrile rubber), according to EN 682, is especially suitable for gas, (waste) water, animal and vegetable oil. Temperature range -40°C to +100°C.

FKM Fluorocarbon elastomer, has good resistance to mineral, vegetable and animal oils, fuels, many bases, acids and solvents. Temperature range -20°C to +250°C.

AVK Repair box with stainless steel elements

Do you want to be able to carry out repairs quickly, but do not have room for a large stock? For urgent repairs and reducing stock, the AVK Repair box is thé solution. The repair box is filled with standard shell sections, which you can combine into a complete repair clamp, to carry out urgent repairs on pipes with diameters between 86 and 1475 mm. Instead of having a stock of different complete repair clamps, you have a clever combination of limited shell sections that can be used for the same range of pipe diameters for repair.

After using shell sections for repair, you can refill the repair box with new shell sections, which you can order separately from us. Depending on your situation you can select the width of the standard shells which suits you the best. They are available in four widths: 300, 400, 500 of 600 mm. Also, you can choose EPDM or NBR rubber sealings and the grade of stainless steel (AISI 304L or AISI 316L).
