Launching our range of tilting disc check valves

Tilting disc check valves with resilient seat and tilting disc check valves with slanted metal seat 06-02-2021

We are happy to launce our range of tilting disc check valves manufactured by AC.MO, AVK's Italian subsidiary.

Tilting disc check valves are designed for drinking water and other neutral liquids, and are typically installed in pumping applications to prevent backflow in the system. The tilting disc requires only very low pressure to open.

Tilting disc check valves, series 874/00-001

Resilient seated, PN10/16, DN150-1600
The resilient seat provides drop-tight closure. The adjustable lever and weight assists the valve when closing to avoid water hammer, and it also acts as position indicator.

Tilting disc slanted seat check valves, series 875/00-001

Metal seated, PN10/16, DN200-1000
The slanted seat mitigates pressure surges by closing the valve before the flow reverses.

To further reduce the risk of water hammer both types of check valves can be fitted with a hydraulic damping device.

Introduction to check valves

Check valves are generally installed in pipelines to prevent backflow. A check valve is basically a one-way valve, in which the flow can run freely one way, but if the flow turns the valve will close to protect the piping, other valves, pumps etc. If the flow turns and no check valve is installed, water hammer can occur. Water hammer often occur with an extreme force and will easily damage a pipeline or components.
